[Ebony](VY7QQHVJ) pressed her nose against the window and watched as the rain tapped softly against the glass. She wore her favorite pink swimsuit, but her mom had said, 'Some other time, [Ebony](VY7QQHVJ).'

[Ebony](VY7QQHVJ) turned to her dog, [Max](RCGJC3J7), and asked, 'Why can’t I go play in the rain? It looks so fun!' The little dog tilted his brown and white head as if he was pondering the question too.

Her mom walked in with a smile. '[Ebony](VY7QQHVJ), rain can be fun, but let’s learn why we sometimes wait for another time,' she said. [Ebony](VY7QQHVJ) scrunched her nose in curiosity.

Her mom pulled out a big book with pictures of clouds. 'Rain helps plants grow,' she explained. 'If it rained too much, it could flood!' [Ebony](VY7QQHVJ)’s jaw dropped. 'Like a big bath? That would be exciting!'

'But too much water isn’t good for plants or animals,' Mom said. [Ebony](VY7QQHVJ) nodded thoughtfully, imagining her favorite tree in the rain, looking droopy from too much water.

Just then, the rain started slowing, and a ray of sunlight streamed through the window. 'Maybe it’s magic!' [Ebony](VY7QQHVJ) exclaimed.

'It’s not magic, but it’s beautiful,' her mom chuckled. 'That’s called a sunshower!' [Ebony](VY7QQHVJ) repeated the word slowly, tasting its meaning. 'Sunshower… that’s so pretty!'

A few minutes later, [Ebony](VY7QQHVJ) spotted something incredible! A rainbow! 'Look, Mom! All the colors!' she shouted happily.

Her mom smiled. 'Rain might stop us for now, but it gives us surprises like this! When the time is right, we’ll go play outside together.' [Ebony](VY7QQHVJ) grinned, already imagining splashing in puddles.

Later, [Ebony](VY7QQHVJ) grabbed her crayons to draw her favorite things about the rain: puddles, flowers, and that beautiful rainbow. 'Rainy days ARE fun!' she giggled happily.
