The ground begins to tremble—What could be on its way? It’s a group of proud emus, Strutting through the day!

Something sunbathes on a rock, Its tongue flicks out at me—It’s a blue-tongued lizard, Warming happily!

Jumping through the tall, dry grass, So strong and red and bold—It’s a joey and her kangaroo mum, In a pouch that’s not too old!

What’s that hiding in the hollow, With a cozy little grin? It’s a curled-up hopping mouse, Just tucking itself in!
