This is little [Ahmad](Z2QMTP95). He is five and is very fond of animals. [Ahmad](Z2QMTP95) lived with his parents in the countryside. Beside their house was their farm.

With Eid just two weeks away, [Ahmad](Z2QMTP95)’s [Dad](V57TZTGL) brings a sheep. [Ahmad](Z2QMTP95) is very happy to see the sheep in the farm. He is eagerly looking forward to playing with it.

[Ahmad](Z2QMTP95) visits the sheep every morning. He feeds it, gives it a bath, and plays with it every day. He takes very good care of it. Gradually, they become very good friends.

One day, [Ahmad](Z2QMTP95) went to see the sheep, but he didn’t find it. [Ahmad](Z2QMTP95) was very worried. He looked everywhere. But he didn’t find him.

Just then, [Ahmad](Z2QMTP95) sees [Dad](V57TZTGL) with the sheep. [Dad](V57TZTGL) was about to offer the sheep to Allah for Eid al-Adha.

[Ahmad](Z2QMTP95) was very sad since he was about to lose his friend. [Dad](V57TZTGL) turns towards [Ahmad](Z2QMTP95), strokes his head, and starts telling him the story of Prophet Ibrahim…

“Long, long time ago was a Prophet named Ibrahim. Prophet Ibrahim loved Allah very much. One day, Prophet Ibrahim was commanded by Allah to offer…

…his beloved son, Prophet Ismail as a sacrifice. Prophet Ibrahim without any hesitation followed Allah’s order. Prophet Ismail also agreed as he too wanted to obey Allah’s command.”

“When Prophet Ibrahim was about to offer his son, something interesting happened… Allah sent down a sheep to be offered instead.”

The father and the son offered the sheep sent by Allah. Allah didn’t want Prophet Ibrahim to offer his son Ismail… It was only a test from Allah.

“That is why we Muslims celebrate the festival of Eid al-Adha by making an offering just like Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail did in remembrance of them,” [Dad](V57TZTGL) continued to explain.

“We too offer a sheep every year on Eid al-Adha. Sheep’s meat is equally divided among neighbors, the poor and needy, friends, and family.” “That was a very interesting story, [Dad](V57TZTGL),” said [Ahmad](Z2QMTP95).
